Here’s how Sandi got involved with fox trotters. “I had been riding Arabians for the last 20 years, but because I’m “older,” I’ve had some back and hip problems over the last couple of years that made it very painful to ride. I was not ready to give up riding, though. I have some friends in Pendleton, OR who train and show fox trotters, and Louise let me ride her show horse about two years ago while we were at a show. I thought I’d died and gone to heaven! I finally contacted them a year later, in October, 2013, and asked if they had any fox trotters for sale. They had Max. After riding him for three hours on a Saturday and another two hours on Sunday, where he placed 2nd in Western Dressage, I was sold. He is a wonderful horse and extremely versatile. I should have done it sooner!”
